The book with insightful storytelling and beautiful illustrations engages the children explaining them differences and also revealing what unites them despite differences. In the process, children identify some similarities and learn to accept the differences. It is a very interesting and helpful book for the children as we live in a multicultural society outside of India. the book is sure to instill pride in children for their food, language, culture, and uniqueness.
“A wonderfully illustrated children’s book about diversity and how children come together to recognize and tolerate their different cultural, culinary, and physical backgrounds. Very insightful storytelling with appropriate pictures of how the children understand that being different does not prevent them from having a good time together. It also illustrates how children are non-judgmental and willing to explore other cultures that they are exposed to through their friendships.”

“This is a great read that sheds light to the ever-changing environment that we live in as it relates to diversity among us in the many different shapes and forms.”

Review by The Association of Children’s Librarians of Northern California:
Mintu is embarrassed that his family speaks Gujarati and not English at home and serves Indian food like Paratha, which is different from what his classmates eat. When two friends visit, Mintu realizes that differences are good. The purposeful and well-intentioned story of friends with different heritage and skin and hair colors to discuss diversity with young children. – The Association of Children’s Librarians of Northern California
